LETHBRIDGE COUNTY – Potentia Renewables Inc. (Potentia) is proud to announce the distribution of Community Benefit Fund support to five local organizations in Lethbridge County. The funding, established through the Stirling Wind Project, will support a range of facility-improvement projects and community initiatives. 

The Stirling Wind Project signed a community benefit agreement to invest directly in the areas where it operates. The fund supports capital projects, events, and programs that advance environmental enhancement, social welfare, education, arts and culture, health and wellness, and emergency relief. 

Following a comprehensive application process, Potentia, in collaboration with Lethbridge County, is pleased to announce the following funding recipients:   

  • Fresh Start Recovery Centre – Run for Recovery event raising awareness around addiction and recovery 
  • Friends of St. Joseph’s School – Construction of a new basketball court 
  • Interfaith Food Bank Society of Lethbridge – Commercial-grade kitchen equipment for the Food Recovery Program 
  • Kinette Club of Coaldale – Kinsmen Park revitalization, including a basketball court and playground upgrades 
  • Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association – Purchase of an adaptive cart for riders with health conditions or disabilities 

Potentia acknowledges the valuable contributions these organizations make to community wellness and development and is proud to support their efforts through this initiative. 

Community Benefit Scholarship Now Open  

Potentia Renewables is also accepting applications for the Stirling Wind Project Community Benefit Scholarship. Open until July 31, 2025, the scholarship supports students entering their first year of post-secondary studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM). Details available here.
